Description
From the anthology edited by Gardner Dozois, commissioned and published by Bluejay/St. Martin's Press, 1987
This was originally a art school assignment, whose criteria was only that there be a "train" in the art. It was one of those assignments in which I took the advice of one teacher who said "listen to what they don't say, as well as what they say..." So, it became a futuristic setting, and, although at the time, there were some chuckles among the students, this ended up as a paid book cover 7 years later.
As with nearly all anthologies, the cover is there just to give a "feel" for the book.
