In the early 90's, I was eager to break out of doing strictly hardware and Sci-Fi art.
Rachel Holmen, of MZB magazine, gave me the chance to do Fantasy subjects. Mostly, these were black & white interior illustrations, but in April 1992, I got the chance to do my first Fantasy cover art.
It was a very humorous story by Jennifer Roberson, about a scrawny, bungling kid, named Arthur, who tries to pull a sword out of a stone. On the way, he meets a talking horse (whose point of view the story is told), with a strange, sword shaped patch on his nose, and helps Arthur make history...
