Fortress

Commissioned by Baen Books in 1986, for the book by David Drake. It was later used in "Space Adventures" by Steve Jackson Games, in 1991.

Here, I used a hired model. In those days, the publisher paid the modeling and photographer fees.

I used casein for the first and only time on this art. It is an oily medium which mixes with water, and dries like watercolor. Too opaque for me...
