Khadra is a young apprentice who is searching for a mage to study under. She finds Sliobine, and agrees to be her "Familiar", a servant of a sorceress, in animal form.
But first, she must get rid of Silobine's troublesome 'familiar' predecessor, hiding amongst old spells books, jars of concoctions, and bottled imps.
